About us

The company DIGÉP was founded in 1915.

In 1948 the company known as DIMÁVAG Machine Factory became independent. At these times the essencial types of the core of the product range had been evolved similarly to some of the present one.

In 1963, the company DIGÉP (Diósgyõri Gépgyár) was formed by the unite of several sections, and had become the center of the machine tool production in Hungary.

Until the end of the 80’s the main products – among war industry production – of the factory used to be cable making machinery, machine tools (counterblow hammers, plate shears, press brakes, excentric presses), and railway wheelsets.

By now the production structure has been transformed, but mainly retained the traditional DIGÉP product range.

Through several reorganisations and changes in ownership, the traditional DIGÉP company group continues the production activity known as DIGÉP HUNGARY Ltd., in addition managed by privat proprietors, in Hungary uniquely among that size of companies.
